‘Sarah Moule and Simon Wallace’s Songs For Scarlet Women is funny, moving and provocative; rarely do you find first-rate musicality and vivid, insightful presentation in such delightful balance. This is sophisticated jazz cabaret of the highest order.’

SONGS FOR SCARLET WOMEN – The Story of the Femme Fatale
Described as ‘highly original’ and hugely successful on it’s debut tour in 2014, this is a unique musical entertainment which takes a 21st Century look at a female archetypes through words and music.

Celebrating the Femme Fatale in all her feisty glory, this two-hander for voice and piano conjures up the atmosphere of a 1950s New York night-club and mixes songs with pithy spoken vignettes.  The songs are by Fran Landesman & Simon Wallace, Anthony Newley & Lesley Bricusse, Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim, Leiber & Stoller, Johnny Mercer & Harold Arlen, Jacques Prévert, Ida Cox and Willie Dixon.  ‘Songs For Scarlet Women’ questions what makes a ‘femme’ into a ‘fatale’, challenging our preconceptions of what that title means.  Between numbers Sarah takes a look at her favourite ‘bad girls’ and finds there’s more to them than meets the eye.  The show includes much of the material from the CD, ‘Songs From The Floating World’ which garnered universal acclaim on its release.

Show Spec: 2 x 45 mins, voice and piano.  Self-contained PA and lighting.
